Product Description

Dudheswar (Red Rice) - Par Boiled

Parthiv Premium Dudheswar Red Rice is a cherished traditional rice variety of Bengal, cultivated by farmers with deep respect for the soil and traditional agricultural wisdom. Grown absolutely without chemical inputs, it offers a naturally wholesome red rice experience.

How to Cook Dudheswar Red Rice Par Boiled Rice

For 1 cup (approximately 200 g) rice:

  1. Rinse Gently: Wash the rice 2–3 times with clean water. Handle gently to preserve the natural texture and character of the red rice.
  2. Soak: Soak for 20–30 minutes in clean water. Drain the soaking water completely before cooking.
  3. Boil: Bring approximately 5 cups of fresh water to a rolling boil.
  4. Cook: Add the soaked rice and cook uncovered over medium heat for approximately 15–20 minutes, or until the grains are tender and properly cooked.
  5. Drain the Starch: Carefully drain the excess cooking water through a colander. This boiling-and-draining method helps produce lighter, separate grains.
  6. Rest: Return the rice to the warm vessel, cover and allow it to rest for 5–10 minutes.
  7. Fluff and Serve: Gently fluff with a rice spoon or fork and serve warm.

Healthy Preparation for Everyday Eating

  • Retain the natural goodness: Avoid excessive polishing, artificial colours, flavours and unnecessary additives.
  • Use the draining method: Draining excess cooking water can reduce the amount of free starch remaining in the cooked rice and gives a lighter texture.
  • Balance your plate: Serve Dudheswar Red Rice with plenty of seasonal vegetables, leafy greens, dal, pulses or other suitable protein sources.
  • Add natural accompaniments: Traditional vegetables, lightly cooked greens and a small amount of healthy fat can complement the meal.
  • Mindful portions: Keep rice portions appropriate to your individual dietary needs and make the meal diverse.
  • Eat freshly prepared: Freshly cooked rice is best enjoyed warm, with clean and simple accompaniments.
